Hello, Karen,
Our pup, Armin, from the Dec. 24, 2015 NAS litter, is doing great! He's proven to be an excellent psychiatric service dog for me. He is reliably alerting to panic attacks, interrupts flashbacks, crying, and self harming behaviors (which I've now been able to eliminate), gives anxiety alerts to 3 signals to allow me to take measures to prevent a full blown panic attack, gives me deep pressure therapy, and blocks, preventing other people from getting too close to me when I'm in crowded places. Armin can sense when I'm feeling fearful and will keep watch right outside whatever room I'm in until I feel safe. He's amazing and really enthusiastic about learning more tasks.
I made the decision to owner train him for this job and it's been such a wonderful experience for me. He lives for training!! I never even had to teach him any of the interruption tasks; he understood those from day 1. His public access training is going very well too. He's been polite and well behaved in stores and other places for a few months now and is totally reliable off leash. He recently had his first outing with me in a sit down restaurant and he was perfect. I'm indescribably grateful for this dog!!
I went from never leaving my house to being able to hold a full time job and lead a happy life. :) I'm so excited to see what the future holds and feel optimistic about completely overcoming the hold PTSD had on my life.
All the Best,
Britt & Armin

Hey Karen!
Loki has been with us for 3 weeks now and he is everything I imagined he would be and more! He now weighs about 20 pounds and continues to grow and change every minute. I want to thank you for giving me the joy to raise such a sweet and well-tempered puppy. He brings so much joy and love into our lives. He is also not afraid of anything, which is amazing! I brought out the vacuum cleaner the other day and he just stepped aside and allowed me to do my cleaning. He truly is the smartest breed I have ever encountered. He learned how to sit, shake, and lay down as if he has been doing it his whole life. He has the biggest personality and is stealing everyone's hearts. Thank you again. ( PHOTOS BELOW:)

Good morning Karen,
Just checking in and wanted you to know all about Arwen!! She is the most perfect puppy ever. And we always have thought our NAID boy, Joba was the best ( which is why we wanted another), but this one is learning ever faster!! She has adjusted beautifully to our family and her new home. Immediately! She walked right in with confidence and made herself at home as if she has been here and one of us forever! We treat our dogs as our kids, so they are with us always. Arwen bonded with us and our 7 year old NAID boy instantly. She found her place and figured out the house rules within one day. We can't even believe it. She has had not one accident since she has been here. She goes up to our sliding glass doors (we have these in several rooms) and taps on the glass and then goes out to potty. Even at night. she was housebroken from the moment we got her. We were certainly not expecting that, it really seems too good to be true. we didn't even train her, she figured it out herself. She is that smart! Plus, we have a 6 year olld daughter, Leia, who is smothering her with love. Arwen is just accepting being swaddled in a blanket like a baby and appears to be eating up all the attention. She could not be a more perfect dog. First try, she took to the leash and harness, and walked around our neighborhood which is 1/2 mile. She got lots of attention. Everyone wants to know about her and where we got her. Thanks again so much. We are so happy. She is the best baby. We are so in love. If we had the room, I would definitely take another pup from you! Maybe in a few years...Vickie
Hi, Karen,
I hope you're well! Our pup, Armin, is now 8 months old and already over 90 lbs.! Our little beefcake will probably be 130 to 150 lbs and we love it! He's friendly towards everyone, very athletic, perfect off leash, and a really strong swimmer. ☺ He continues to be an amazing companion for me and is a huge help in my PTSD recovery. He's a great boy and helps me get out of the house when I'm not feeling well. He protects me everywhere I go by being quiet and watchful but never growling, which is a great asset to me living in the city. Everybody compliments his sweet and calm temperament and I can't say enough great things about your NAS dogs at MVK. ❤
Wishing you well,
Britt, Trevor, and Armin
Good morning Karen. So we have had this beautiful little girl for one week. Just wanted to give you an update on her progress. We love her so much. She is just perfect in every way. Adjusting beautifully and learning so quickly. amusing dynamics between Arwen and Joba dog. Arwen seems to be the Alpha! I would never have thought it! We kept telling our dog that he was the chief Indian dog (literally) and she was going to be his little Indian to take care of. But she came here with so much confidence, she is clearly running the show and it is clear she is the Alp[ha. He is sitting back watching and giving her all his toys, trampoline, and even his food. He is just apparently happily relinquishing the head role to her. He has actually never been happier. He sometimes used to pout if we left him even for a few hours. Or if we work from home, and couldn't give him our undivided attention. He went into clear pout mode until he was walked or played with for hours. He is kind of demanding. You know how NAIDS can be. It is all good and we are happy and able to give him that level of attention. But ever since we got Arwen, he has not pouted once. He is wagging his tail and smiling constantly. We are so happy we got her. The funniest thing happened. First night she was here I put her bed beside me in our bedroom. Joba's bed is on Ken's side of the bed so he can reach out and touch him in the night. By day 3 Arwen had dragged her huge bed across the room and put it by his! Hysterical. and this morning we awoke to her inching her way on his bed with him! I wish I was quick enough to get a picture, but she is surely a girl who knows what she wants and is not afraid to go for it. Thanks again for this fabulous little girl. I will continue to keep you updated on her, but so far, she is everything we dreamed of and more! Vickie
Hey Karen! I just have to say, we adore our little boy! He has been absolutely wonderful his first few days and nights here. He and our husky mix bonded instantly and have played together non-stop. We named him Lykaios, and he has been everything you described and more. Such a sweet temperament. He's so fat and clumsy and we just can't help but giggle at him. We weighed him at 19.4 pounds! Definitely going to take after his sire and grand sire. Thank you again for this wonderful addition to our family. We're on cloud 9.

Hi Karen, I just wanted to send you an update on Miika. She's nearing 15 months old, and she's smart, energetic, sweet, very affectionate, and loves people and dogs. We haven't weighed her recently but are guessing she's around 60-65 pounds. She went from an adorable puppy to a truly beautiful full-grown dog. Her coat is long and very silky. We all love having her as a member of our family. I've attached a few recent photos for you. I hope you're doing well. Lisa |
Karen,
Thanks for your reply and comments about Niiji. Ed and I had a long talk about him last night, and we've pretty much come to the same difficult conclusion you did about him. You've seen so many dogs that getting your perspective helps a lot. We haven't bathed Miika yet, but she's been held and petted so much that she feels really fluffy :). We just adore her. We can already tell how incredibly smart she is, and she's already giving lots of kisses, letting us know when she wants to go outside, and just an absolute doll. We feel very privileged to have her. We'll look forward to seeing Blue's male pup in pictures. Gosh I am in love with that big boy :). Stay warm, and we'll look forward to staying in touch. Feel free to post our comments and photo on your site. I'll send you updated photos as she grows. Lisa Hi Karen,
Kota (our NAS female from M.V.'S Baltic Amber & M.V.'S Shaloam) went in for her well puppy check this morning. Thought you would like to know that our vet of many years thought she was an absolutely magnificent puppy. He said she is very healthy, had terrific bone structure and a wonderful temperament. He couldn't believe how well adjusted she was for making the trip and us having her for just a day. He said she was one of the finest puppies he had ever seen. She is catching on to things faster than any puppy I've ever had. Kota is everything you described to me and more and her personality was the perfect fit for us. I can't thank you enough. We couldn't be more pleased. Feel free to add our updates to the website anytime. We are very proud to be the owner of one of your beautiful puppies. Have a great day.. Kelly |
Hi Karen, I took some new photos of Kota (NAS Baltic Amber and Shaloam) this afternoon while I was out working on the yard, in between play time of course. I can't believe how much she's changed in the past 2 months. She gets more beautiful each day. Last week we were walking and ran into some young teens playing soccer. She joined in the game and shoved the ball up and down the street with her nose and paws keeping total control of the ball. Guess she'll be needing her own soccer ball next time I go to the store. At the dog park last week, someone brought their miniature chihuahua into the big dog side. Kota spotted it and came flying across the park full speed at it. She slid to a halt, dropped to the ground and rolled onto her back so she could kiss the chihuahua in the face. She was so gentle with it, everyone was in awe. On Friday, we were out walking in our neighborhood when a lady came running out of her house calling to us. She wanted to know if my dog was Kota, she had heard about her from her neighbors. The lady has a dear friend who is going to have to retire her service dog and was looking for a new dog to train. She thought a dog like Kota would be a perfect fit for her friend. I did leave her with your contact information. Kota is now 14 months old and just gets better and better with each passing week. I've never had a dog as smart as she is. There are times she seems almost human. We look forward to our journey with this special dog every day and can't wait to see where it will take us. Kelly in Arizona |
